Shared sports facilities with the local community
The University considers its sports facilities not merely as resources for institutional use but also as valuable community assets that can contribute to the physical, mental, and social well-being of the wider population. Through the sharing of sports grounds, indoor and outdoor courts, fitness facilities, gymnasiums, and other sports infrastructure, the University seeks to promote an active lifestyle, encourage participation in sports, and foster a culture of fitness and wellness beyond the campus.
Such access provides school students with opportunities to participate in sports and physical education activities in a well-equipped environment, particularly where schools have limited sports infrastructure of their own.
The University facilitates access to playgrounds, athletic tracks, basketball and volleyball courts, badminton facilities, indoor sports halls, and other suitable infrastructure for school-level sports events, inter-school competitions, coaching camps, physical fitness activities, and recreational programmes.
The University's physical education faculty, sports coaches, and trained student volunteers support sports awareness programmes, basic fitness activities, skill-development sessions, and talent identification initiatives.
The University promotes community participation in sports and physical fitness by facilitating access to its sports facilities for members of the local community, subject to prescribed rules and operational feasibility.
The sharing of sports facilities is undertaken through appropriate administrative arrangements to ensure the safe, efficient, and responsible utilization of infrastructure. Access are regulated through prior permission, scheduling, designated timings, supervision, safety protocols, and compliance with the University's rules and regulations.
The University encourages responsible use of sports equipment, cleanliness of facilities, water and energy conservation, and proper maintenance of grounds and equipment. These measures help preserve infrastructure, minimize resource wastage, and ensure the long-term sustainability of community sports initiatives.
