About this goal
VMRF (DU) supports Climate Action through environmental awareness, tree plantation, green-campus initiatives, and energy-conservation practices. Students and staff are encouraged to understand climate change and adopt environmentally responsible lifestyles. Research on renewable and alternative energy promotes cleaner and sustainable solutions. Energy-saving measures, campus greenery, and climate-conscious practices help reduce environmental impact.
Why this goal matters to us
VMRF (DU) can contribute to SDG 13 by promoting environmental responsibility, climate awareness, and sustainable practices across its campuses. Through environmental education, awareness programmes, tree plantation initiatives, energy conservation, and responsible resource management, the University can encourage students, faculty, and staff to understand climate-related challenges and adopt environmentally conscious practices.
VMRF DU can further support climate action through initiatives such as renewable energy utilisation, green campus development, waste reduction, water conservation, and research related to environmental sustainability, wherever implemented. Collaboration with local communities, government agencies, and other organisations can strengthen climate awareness and encourage collective action. These efforts can help promote a sustainable campus environment and contribute to broader climate change mitigation and adaptation goals.
