Life on Land
Protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, and halt and reverse land degradation and biodiversity loss
About this goal
VMRF (DU) supports Life on Land through tree plantation, campus greenery, environmental conservation, and awareness programmes. Green-campus initiatives help improve ecological quality and create healthier surroundings. Students and staff are encouraged to participate in plantation and conservation activities. Environmental education promotes awareness of biodiversity and the importance of terrestrial ecosystems.
Why this goal matters to us
VMRF (DU) can contribute to SDG 15 by promoting biodiversity conservation, environmental awareness, and sustainable campus management. Through tree plantation, green-campus initiatives, landscaping with suitable native species, and responsible land-use practices, the University can encourage the protection of terrestrial ecosystems and create greener, healthier learning environments.
VMRF DU can further support SDG 15 through environmental education, biodiversity awareness programmes, waste management, and collaboration with environmental organisations and local communities. Encouraging students, faculty, and staff to participate in nature conservation activities can strengthen environmental responsibility and promote the sustainable use of natural resources. These efforts can contribute to the protection of biodiversity and the preservation of terrestrial ecosystems for future generations.
