Good Health and Well-being
Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages
Current collaborations with health institutions
The University recognizes that good health and well-being are fundamental to sustainable development and are essential for building a healthy, equitable, and resilient society. Partnerships with local, national and global health institutions aim to improve access to healthcare, strengthen preventive and promotive health services, enhance healthcare education and research, and address the health needs of underserved and vulnerable populations.
The University actively engages with local hospitals, primary healthcare centres, community health organizations and other health institutions and facilitates health awareness programmes, medical and health screening camps, preventive healthcare initiatives, rehabilitation services, nutrition education, mental health awareness, and lifestyle modification programmes.
These initiatives provide opportunities for early identification of health problems, timely referral, health education, and improved access to essential healthcare services, particularly for rural communities, economically disadvantaged groups, older adults, persons with disabilities, women, and children.
The University also encourages community-based health assessments and field-based learning activities to identify local health challenges and develop context-specific interventions.
At the national level, the University seeks to establish and strengthen partnerships with government healthcare institutions, national health programmes, medical research organizations, professional councils, public health agencies, and recognized healthcare networks. These collaborations facilitate knowledge exchange, capacity building, faculty development, clinical training, research, and the implementation of evidence-based healthcare practices.
Collaborative activities include awareness campaigns, screening programmes, research projects, workshops, continuing professional development programmes, and training for healthcare professionals and community volunteers.
The University recognizes that many health challenges transcend national boundaries and require international cooperation, shared knowledge, and coordinated action. Accordingly, it promotes collaborations with international universities, hospitals, public health institutions, research centres, healthcare networks, and global health organizations.
Areas of mutual interest include global disease prevention, health promotion, digital health, rehabilitation sciences, healthcare technology, environmental health, mental health, health equity, and the development of sustainable healthcare systems.
The impact of collaborations is assessed through appropriate indicators, such as the number of active institutional partnerships, health camps conducted, individuals screened and counselled, beneficiaries reached, referrals facilitated, students and faculty members involved, collaborative research projects undertaken, and health awareness programmes delivered. Feedback from beneficiaries and partner institutions, along with periodic reviews of outcomes, helps identify gaps and strengthen future interventions.
