Life Below Water
Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development
Our Approach
VMRF(DU) is committed to advancing Sustainable Development Goal 14 (Life Below Water) by promoting the conservation and sustainable use of oceans, seas, and marine resources. Our approach focuses on protecting aquatic ecosystems, preventing water pollution, encouraging responsible waste management, and fostering awareness of the importance of marine and freshwater biodiversity.
Through environmental education, research initiatives, community outreach, pollution prevention activities, and responsible resource management, we strive to strengthen understanding of the threats facing aquatic ecosystems. We encourage students, faculty, researchers, and communities to contribute to reducing plastic pollution, preventing the improper disposal of waste into water bodies, and promoting environmentally responsible practices that safeguard aquatic life.
By integrating environmental sustainability into academic activities, research, and community engagement, VMRF (DU) aims to support aquatic biodiversity conservation, responsible water resource management, and the protection of marine ecosystems for present and future generations, in alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
