Sustainable Cities and Communities
Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable
Our Approach
VMRF(DU) is committed to advancing Sustainable Development Goal 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) by promoting sustainable campus practices, environmental responsibility, inclusive spaces, and community well-being. Our approach focuses on creating cleaner, safer, greener, and more accessible learning environments while encouraging the responsible use of resources and the adoption of sustainable practices across our campuses.
Through green campus initiatives, responsible waste management, water and energy conservation, sustainable infrastructure development, environmental awareness programmes, and community outreach, we strive to minimise our environmental footprint and contribute to a healthier society. We also encourage students, faculty, and staff to participate in initiatives that promote biodiversity, cultural awareness, disaster preparedness, and the preservation of natural and cultural heritage.
By integrating sustainability into campus planning, education, research, and community engagement, VMRF (DU) aims to contribute to resilient communities, improved quality of life, and a more sustainable future in alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
